Steven Oscar Malone Obituary (1963 - 2026)

It is with a joyful heart that we celebrate the life of Steven Oscar Malone, who was gifted to us on June 24, 1963, and who on February 24, 2026, decided to take his adventurous spirit to the heavens. Born in Ironton, Ohio, and settling in Franklin after stints in Lima and Middletown, Steven was a man who lived his life on his own terms - packing as much fun, love, and talent into his 62 years as one possibly could. He was known to many as a skilled mechanic, whose love for working on cars was only surpassed by his love for his family. Steven was a funny man, who could lighten up any room he walked into. His laughter was the kind that was infectious, the kind that made you feel like you were in on the world's best joke. He was also a loving man, who cherished his family above all else. His wife Dianah of almost 18 years, sisters Dottie Malone (Donald)Sensabaugh and Nancy Malone (Michael) Haas, and his mother, Mary Lou Malone, can attest to his warm heart and generous spirit. He also has a brother Tim Malone (Sheila) who survives. He had a stepdaughter as well Nicole (Jamie) Moore, and her family. It was Steven's belief, as writer George Bernard Shaw once said, "Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh." Steven was talented, not just in his job as a mechanic, but in the way he made everyone around him feel special. His adventurous side saw him leave his birthplace of Ironton, live in Lima and Middletown before finally settling in Franklin. He loved to explore, whether it was a new town or the intricate workings of an automobile. He was a man who lived by the words of Helen Keller: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." Steven was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Malone.
