Miamisburg, Ohio
Raybon “Moose” Barrett, aged 85, of Miamisburg, Ohio, took his final adventure on November 25, 2025. Born on September 6, 1940, in Beattyville, KY, Raybon grew up to be a spirited man whose love for adventure and resilience was vast. He was never happy staying in one place. He joined the United States Marine Corps on 10/22/1959 and was honorably discharged on 10/11:1963. He was a roofer by trade, working in the construction industry, but his true passion was found on the open road, gun range, and in the pages of a western novel. A quote by John Wayne, "Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway," perfectly encapsulates Raybon's adventurous spirit and resilience.
Raybon was a member of the Dayton Outlaws and was known and loved for his spirited personality, and height of 6’7 which earned him the affectionate nickname, “Moose.” Over the years, his adventurous spirit took him to live in various places including Dayton, Ohio; Jacksonville, Florida; and Moraine, Ohio. However, what mattered most to Raybon were his beloved USA, his friends, and his reputation.
Raybon is survived by his daughters, Angela (Robert) Popp and Shannon Suddith; sons Daniel (Sarah) Fish and three other sons; nephew Charles (Julie) Barrett, and great-nephews Brack and Cody Barrett and his niece, Amber (Greg) Rockey. He is survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Ray Barrett, mother Evilee (nee Moore) Ford, his beloved brother Charles Sr, a great nephew, Seth, and one son.
Raybon’s life was a testament to his adventurous and resilient spirit. As we remember Raybon, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos of him to the memorial page. His spirit lives on in the stories we share, the laughter we remember, and the love he left behind.
