Phyllis L Woods

Phyllis L. Woods, 86, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025. Born in Dayton to Chester Scott and Mary E. Jackson. She grew up surrounded by the values of family and Faith. She earned her master’s degree in criminal justice and built a meaningful career with Project Impact, where her dedication touched many lives before retiring. Phyllis found joy in ceramics, reading books, and sharing the recipes to her home-cooked meal.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her beloved husband, Ronald E. Woods, and her siblings Chester, Richard, Emmanuel, Samuel, Charles, Benny, Thelma, and Janice.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Jeanette, Jesse (Tammy), Phillip, Tina, and Pamela (Kevin). Her grandchildren JeaDara, JeaNae, Nia, Nadja, Eugene, Kaylin, Kiana, LaDonne, Phillip Jr. Her great-grandchildren Greg Jr., Calee, Kylee, Devron Jr. and Daishawn and a host of extended family and friends.

Her unwavering faith, love and wisdom will live forever in our hearts. We will miss her dearly on earth but will be with her again in Glory.
