Dayton, Ohio
Born July 19, 1960, passed away on Wednesday October 30, 2024 in Dayton Ohio. He was born in the little town of Bath in upstate New York to John and Nellie Hoban, and was raised in Pulteney, New York, where he spent most of his time on Keuka Lake. He graduated in 1978 from Hammondsport Central School (Hammondsport, New York).
Following graduation, Pat enlisted in the US Coast Guard. While serving, under Search and Rescue he became an EMT, and under Federal Law Enforcement trained others the skill of disarming the enemy. He was so very proud of his service and achievements in the Coast Guard. Pat was last stationed at Belle Isle before being honorably discharged in 1986, after 6 years of service. He then became a certified master auto technician and worked his way up to running his own auto repair shop.
Patrick absolutely loved the water. His two favorite places to be, besides home with his family, were Keuka Lake and Anna Maria Island in Florida. He was always happiest on the water. Pat also loved to cook and once had a job in a 5-star restaurant. His favorite summer pastime, if he couldn't go to the water, was cooking out for the neighborhood. And in autumn, he loved his football, especially the Buffalo Bills. Patrick also loved to tell jokes; he inherited that from his father; antics were aplenty in his household his entire life. But more than anything, Patrick loved his family, his friends, and his animals. He was kind, loving, and forgiving. He touched so many lives; he will be greatly missed by everyone who was blessed to know him.
Patrick was predeceased by his parents, John and Nell Hoban; brothers Michael Batchelor, Richard Yentzer, and Joe Didas; sister Sandra Morton; niece LaRita Jacobs, and grandson Jakia Dye.
Patrick is survived by his wife Jennifer Hoban, daughters Tiera Hoban and Crystal (Will) Marcum. Sons, Jonathan and Christopher Hoban, Step-Children, Leyanna (Michael) Brockman, Steven Thompson, Alyssa (Nick) Hatton, Elizabeth Oster, Michael Coulter, and Amanda Shawntel. Several Grandchildren. Brothers, Robert (Barb) Yentzer, Ronald (Marge) Yentzer, Ronald Didas, sister Darlene (Phill) Chissom, and so many nieces and nephews.
