Henry Huffman, Jr. Obituary (1959 - 2024)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry Huffman, Jr., affectionately known to his family as Gibby, who left us on August 19, 2024. Born on October 1, 1959, Henry lived a fulfilling life of 64 years, primarily in Dayton, Ohio, but also leaving footprints on the hearts of people in Heber Heights, Ohio, and Creston, West Virginia. Henry was a loving and reliable pillar in his community. For seven years, he served as a dedicated Case Manager for St. Vincent’s SSVF Program, tirelessly working to provide supportive services for veterans and their families. His warmth and joyful regard for each person will be remembered by all who crossed his path. He was a beacon of hope for many, especially the homeless vets he worked with, helping them find housing. A man of many talents, Henry was an avid golfer, albeit virtually on his phone, and an enthusiastic reader, particularly fond of James Patterson and Stuart Woods books. His unwavering support for the Cleveland Browns was infectious, and he never failed to hold onto the hope that each year would be the one they finally made it to the Super Bowl. Henry's dedication extended beyond his professional life. He was a supportive and loving husband to Teresa Belcher-Huffman, a reliable father to RJ Belcher, Ryan Huffman, Natalie Castle, and Nicole Hardin, and a cherished grandfather to Allie Holmes, Gabby Homes, Alexis Ash, Liam Fields, and Levi Fields. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Mary Herbst, ex-wife Janie Huffman, sister Debbie (Terry) Saylor, and brother Sean (Shelly) Huffman. His memory will be lovingly cherished by all who knew him, including his brother-in-law Terry Saylor and sister-in-law Shelly Huffman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Josephine Huffman, brother Scott Huffman, and sister Henrietta Huffman.
