Edward “Ed” White, a devoted servant of God, proud U.S. Army veteran, and beloved family
man, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born the only son among six siblings, Ed’s life was marked by faith, leadership, and service. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1959, earned degrees from Indiana State University and the University of Dayton, and had a distinguished career with the Department of Defense. He was honored to be one of the few civilians selected to attend the Air War College. After retiring in 1993, he taught at Sinclair University and worked with the Prison Education Program.

A man of elegance and excellence, Ed was known for his sharp style, love of golf, and devotion to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He served in numerous church roles and was active on the board of Helping Our Families, a Dayton-based nonprofit.

Ed was married to Mary Catherine Griffin and raised three children: Monique, Denise, and Ed Jr. In 1982, he married Beverly Ann White and welcomed stepdaughters Kim, Karen, and Krista. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather who treasured time with family.

He is survived by his wife Beverly, his children and stepchildren, grandchildren, great-
grandchildren, three sisters, and many loved ones. Ed’s legacy of faith, integrity, and love lives on in all who knew him.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21
