Darryl K Grubb Obituary (1962 - 2025)

Darryl K Grubb, affectionately known as "Big Dawg" and "Gruff," was a man of strength and resilience, who lived his life with inspiring courage and deep loyalty. Born on April 3, 1962, in Dayton, Ohio, Darryl’s life was a testament to the power of perseverance and the enduring capacity of the human spirit. As Winston Churchill once remarked, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." Darryl embodied this spirit of resilience throughout his 63 years, and his life was a testament to an unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and work. Darryl was a self-made carpenter, crafting his skills into a successful self-contracting business. His work was a reflection of his resilient spirit and an inspiration to those who knew him. He demonstrated that with determination and courage, one could build a life of accomplishment and fulfillment. Darryl was also an ardent sports enthusiast, whether it was rooting for his beloved OSU or watching UFC with his buddies. His love for sports was equalled only by his love for his family, which was his greatest source of joy and pride. Darryl is survived by his son Mark (Katie) Grubb, his brothers Mark (Lynn) Grubb and Jeff Grubb, and his sister Michele (Troy) Sullens. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Cole Smith and Jayce Grubb, and his niece and nephew Cassandra (Ed) Kline and Matt Grubb, who will remember him fondly. His niece Marilyn Grubb and his ex-wife Kim (Dale) Tussey will also remember the times they shared with Darryl. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Grubb.
