With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Anita Marie Humston, a creative, funny, loving, and generous soul, who left us on August 30, 2025. Born on August 8, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, Anita spent her beautiful life of 65 years touching countless lives in her hometown.
Anita was a beacon of light and a pillar of strength, not just for her family but for anyone lucky enough to know her. She dedicated 30 years of her life to the noble profession of nursing, giving selflessly and tirelessly in service to others. Her work was a testament to her generous spirit and her boundless capacity for compassion and care. A devoted mother and grandmother, Anita loved her daughter Erica Pennington and granddaughter Havana Smith fiercely. Her love for them was a reflection of her deep-rooted faith and devotion to her Lord and Savior.
Anita's faith was a guiding force in her life. She was a woman who lived her faith, not just in words, but in action. Her relationship with the Lord was the bedrock of her existence. She loved Jesus with an intensity that was palpable to everyone who knew her. As is written in Proverbs 31:25-26, "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." Anita embodied these verses, living a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Humston and Hazel Gilpin-Humston.
As we remember Anita, we invite all who knew and loved her to share their memories, anecdotes, and photos on her memorial page. Your shared experiences will serve as a beautiful testament to the vibrant life she lived, and the profound impact she had on those around her.
